In the early 1980‘s founder, carpenter and cabinetmaker Michael W. Crowley was hired to build some commercial cabinets for Humana Hospital in suburban Atlanta, Georgia. 

After completing the Humana project a permanent manufacturing facility was set up in Stone Mountain, Georgia, and served as the beginning of Crowley’s Caseworks, Inc. 

 

Many commercial projects followed, including cabinets for: Scottish Rite Children‘s Hospital, St. Joseph’s Hospital, Dunwoody Medical Center as well as other Atlanta Institutions. Responding to each new challenge, Mike Crowley and Crowley‘s Caseworks, Inc. accepted and completed casework for the new Atlanta Fulton County Airport FAA Control Tower and a POP UP prototype for the FAA’s experimental ground radar system at Atlanta’s Hartsfield International Airport Control Tower. Other commercial projects included storage units and displays for the United States Marine Corps in Parris Island, South Carolina; graphic switching consoles and counters for CNN News, Reception and service counters for CNN and Turner Broadcasting’s video libraries, retail counters for the 1996 summer Olympics.

In the 1980‘s Crowley’s Caseworks, Inc. branched into a new direction as a sub-contracter of store fixture work for Macy‘s and Rich’s department.stores. Soon Upton’s and Performance Bicycles were added. The Performance Bicycle project was coast to coast with 20 stores opening per year. Our fixture rollout for Famous Footwear's total store redesign project not only put our fixtures into every one of 975 stores but also landed us an NASFM Store Merit Design Award for our GT Fixture series, our

patented "groove tube" system that can store extra shelves on the fixture as part of the design without having to run back to a "fixture storage room" to make adjustments to the set up. Having high and low merchandise capacities is part of the sell through process, where it has been proven that "a full fixture always sells better". The GT can handle virtually any classification of merchandise, from hard to soft goods, electronics, candles to helmets, etc. Browse our photos, you'll see!
